According to Katy Perry, you can wear whatever you want to the polls Nov. 8 — even if “whatever you want” means nothing at all. But according to the cops in the pop star’s new Funny or Die sketch, voting naked is a no-go. Oops?
Monday, Perry tweeted, “TOMORROW, I USE MY BODY AS CLICK BAIT TO HELP CHANGE THE WORLD,” along with a photo of her (censored) nude self. In the Funny or Die and Rock the Vote collaboration, she tells viewers that she’s got some “great news”: “This year, you can look like s— when you vote,” Perry, completely bedraggled after just waking up, says. “Yep, I’ve briefly scanned the Constitution and nowhere does it say you can’t just roll out of bed and come to the polls in whatever state you woke up in.”
The “Rise” singer then goes on to present a variety of just-woke-up-looks. There’s an adult woman dressed up in a child’s onesie, a “hunk in kids’ briefs,” Awkward‘s Molly Tarlov donning acne cream. And then there’s Perry, who rips off her clothes before the police arrive and put her in a car with an also-naked Joel McHale.
Perry’s been outspoken about her support for Hillary Clinton this election, even performing at July’s Democratic National Convention. She also posted an encouraging tweet addressed to the Democratic candidate ahead of Monday’s debate: “Ready for #mudslingmonday,” she wrote. “#YOUGOTTHISHRC.”
