Elena Ferrante's Neapolitan novels are getting a stage adaptation

The show will play London's Rose Theatre Kingston

In addition to devouring Elena Ferrante’s Neapolitan novels, fans will soon be able to see the story on stage.

London’s Rose Theatre Kingston announced Monday that it will be presenting a play based on the four books. Titled My Brilliant Friend after the first novel in the series, the show’s split into two parts, which audiences can see on either the same day or separate days.

April De Angelis penned the stage adaptation’s script, which follows the intense friendship between Elena and Lila in post-World War II Italy. The news comes one day after a New York Review of Books writer potentially outed the anonymous author.

Previews kick off Feb. 25 and the show runs through April 2.
