The xx add tour dates, share playlist and update on new album

'We are in the studio working on our third album,' the band announced

The xx provided an update about their upcoming album and announced new tour dates Monday. Kicking off Nov. 28 in Zagreb, Croatia, five of the six fresh dates are set for eastern Europe. After an itinerary that takes them to the Czech Republic, Poland, and Lithuania, the xx will head to Tokyo for a show on Dec. 6.

“We are in the studio working on our third album,” the band wrote in a statement. “It feels so good to be together making new music.” The trio’s last album was 2012’s Coexist. (In 2015, Jamie xx released his solo debut In Colour, which featured performances from the xx’s Oliver Sim and Romy.)

To give fans a glimpse of their creative process, the xx shared a playlist of music they’ve “been listening to in the studio.” It includes Drake, Sia, Aretha Franklin, the Velvet Underground, Nina Simone, Radiohead, Björk, Alicia Keys, and many more. It also features “Ivy,” the song off Frank Ocean’s 2016 album Blonde that Jamie xx worked on.

The xx recently announced that in March and April 2017 they’ll play a string of dates as part of Lollapalooza South America. Read on for their tour calendar, latest Facebook note, and fresh Spotify playlist.
