Tanya Tucker has been hospitalized in Nashville after becoming ill on tour in South Dakota.
The singer is recovering from an upper respiratory infection and is postponing six upcoming shows in the United States and Canada. She is expected to return to the stage for her Oct. 22 show in Kentucky.
“I cannot apologize enough to all the fans who bought tickets and were looking forward to seeing us on the road,” Tucker, 58, said in a statement. “I just feel terrible, but I’ll get even worse if I don’t take care of myself. I love you all.”
Just last month Tucker was a Special Awards recipient at the ACM Honors, which also paid tribute to Glen Campbell, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban among others.
Tucker’s postponed tour dates are as follows: Oct. 7 in South Dakota, Oct. 11 and 12 in Saskatchewan, Canada, Oct. 14 in Idaho, Oct. 15 in Oregon and Oct. 16 in Washington.
