Halloween isn’t for everyone, especially the faint of heart. Thankfully, Twitter has found a way to make the spooky time filled with horror films much more adorable.
The hashtag #MakeAHorrorFilmLessScary reigned viral on Twitter Tuesday, spotlighting users’ ability to turn a horror story into something straight out of Sesame Street. What if Jack Torrance didn’t attempt to murder his family in The Shining, but was more focused on creating an epic dance party called The Shindig? Those who fear the ocean can now rest — and swim — easily, with Jaws cheekily transformed into Paws — an adorably ferocious kitten, naturally. The horror reversals ranged from the best of the monster genre to several Stephen King classics.
Even the slasher icons got a swift dose of cleverness. Sorry Jason Voorhees, this imaginary weekend marks Friday the 12th. Jigsaw may think he’s clever with all of his traps and torture devices, but for one user, they Saw…right through the plot. EW has culled some of the best of the hashtag below.
