Electroclash group Le Tigre have become the latest musical group to join the political conversation through song. The Kathleen Hanna-fronted group released a video entitled “I’m With Her” in support of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton on Tuesday.
The lyrics cut right to the issues taking on everything from praise of Clinton’s pantsuits to Republican nominee’s desire to build a wall on the Mexican border. The chorus keeps it simple, “I’m with her / To the top / She’s with us / We won’t stop.” The track also features chants like, “Trump has got to go,” and “Who do we want? We want HRC.”
The video alternates between group members Hanna, JD Samson, and Johanna Fateman dancing on a rooftop in pantsuits and footage of Clinton, protesting crowds, and the occasional cat.
Le Tigre is not the only musical group singing about the election. Dave Eggers’ 30 Songs, 30 Days playlist features new anti-Trump music from artists like Jim James, Aimee Mann, Death Cab For Cutie, and more.
