Thought Wayne Brady was just a lovable game show host? Think again. In this week’s episode of Aftermath, the funnyman is armed and ready (note the camo clothing) to take on the end of the world.

Brady joins series stars Anne Heche and James Tupper in their fight for survival in a new and grossly-altered world. The TV host plays Lamar “Booner” Boone, someone Karen Copeland (Heche) knows from her past. Rather than using his quick wit to entertain contestants on game shows like Whose Line Is It Anyway? and Let’s Make A Deal, Brady is portraying a character who uses his smarts to take on a hoard of apocalyptic creatures.

“Everybody laughed at me, saying Booner’s gone crazy burying beans in the wood and s—,” his character says in the exclusive clip above, boasting of his preparedness for battling whatever the new world throws at him. “But I buried a lot more than beans in the woods. I also buried custom-modified, Yugoslav, army-surplus, anti-personnel mines, bitches.”

Um, good job, Booner?

Brady’s episode of Aftermath, titled “A Clatter and a Chatter,” airs Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET on Syfy.
