A Tribe Called Quest roared back into the music sphere this week with the release of their new album, We Got It From Here, Thank You 4 Your Service, and a musical guest appearance on Saturday Night Live.

When the hip-hop group took the stage on Saturday, they began by honoring late MC Phife Dawg, the Tribe member who died this year before the album came out.

“We are all one. We are the people,” Q-Tip told the audience before launching into the new track, “We The People…” which features a verse from Phife. When those lines came, a flag bearing his face came down on stage. Q-Tip and Jarobi turned to the flag and rapped to Phife’s image for the rest of the song.

Later in the show, A Tribe Called Quest returned and performed “The Space Program” with Busta Rhymes and Consequence, and during that performance, Jarobi wore a short that just said PHIFE.
