Over the past few years, Miley Cyrus’ music has been influenced more and more by hip-hop, EDM, and psychedelic indie rock — but that doesn’t mean she’s lost her country roots. On Tuesday night’s episode of The Voice, Cyrus joined Dolly Parton for a version of Parton’s classic “Jolene.”

The two were also joined by Pentatonix, who provided an acapella backing. The singers were fanned out on stage, with Parton naturally front and center.

This isn’t the first time Cyrus has covered “Jolene.” She’s done stripped-down versions posted online, and even covered it in public with Parton before. In addition to being her musical forebear, Parton is also Cyrus’ literal godmother.
