Tom Keen, meet your father.
Lost alum Terry O’Quinn has joined the cast of NBC’s new spinoff The Blacklist: Redemption as the father of Ryan Eggold’s character, EW has learned exclusively.
The Blacklist: Redemption finds the world’s most elusive criminals from Red’s (James Spader) infamous list coming together to form an elite mercenary team as they try to regain their self-worth after a lifetime of inflicting damage on the world. Blacklist undercover operative Tom Keen (Eggold) joins the team’s brilliant and cunning chief, Susan “Scottie” Hargrave (Janssen) — who is apparently his mother! — as well as lethal assassin and Tom nemesis Matias Solomon (Edi Gathegi). Tawny Cypress and Adrian Martinez also star.
O’Quinn will play Howard Hargrave, the founder of Halcyon Aegis, the international private military contracting firm for which they all work. He is brilliant, an asymmetrical thinker, and a visionary leader. He is also a man driven by deeply held moral convictions that can put him at odds with his own company.
Deeply private, Howard has a complex relationship with Scottie Hargrave, his wife of many years, and he has suffered profound personal tragedies which have left wounds that will never heal. Howard now faces a crisis that challenges every assumption he’s ever made about his company, his family, and his life.
O’Quinn, who most recently starred on ABC’s Secrets & Lies, will be a recurring guest star on Redemption.
The Blacklist: Redemption will debut Thursday, Feb. 23 and air for eight weeks in the flagship’s timeslot at 10 p.m. ET before The Blacklist returns on Thursday, April 20 with a two-hour episode. The Blacklist returns from winter hiatus on Thursday, Jan. 5 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
