RuPaul's Drag Race recap: 'New Wave Flashback'

After last week’s elimination, there was a void in the Werk Room the size and shape of Cynthia Lee Fontaine’s cucu. The queens gathered to pay their respects — but mostly, they gathered to talk about themselves before they erased Cynthia’s lipstick message, which she had written using only her cucu. Cucu, cucu, cucu. Okay, I just had to get in a final few mentions of Cynthia’s cucu while we still can. Cucu. That’s it for the rest of the season, I promise!

RuPaul's Drag Race recap: 'RuCo's Empire'

As we did with Cookie Lyon on the debut episode of Empire, we started out this episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race welcoming back a queen who had fallen hard from grace and was returning from exile. But unlike Cookie’s glorious return from jail, the return of this mystery queen wasn’t all that fierce and fell far short from changing the course of television history.

Top Chef recap: 'Finale'

After a very exciting showdown last week, Jeremy emerged victorious and Amar made a blazing comeback from Last Chance Kitchen. (Am I the only one who felt a tiny bit bad for Jason, winning for so long only to lose LCK so late in the game?) Now that they were the final two, Amar and Jeremy sized each other up over a game of pool, with Amar noting that Jeremy tends to go a little crazy under pressure.

RuPaul's Drag Race recap: 'Bitch Perfect'

Maybe I’m just on an RPDR high because it’s still so early in the season, but this episode had EVERYTHING. The Pitch Perfect-themed challenge was incredibly energized and brought some big talents to the forefront; battle lines were drawn; the queens got REAL about their backstories; my Fierce List of queen rankings was turned upside down; and it even ended on a massive cliffhanger, and I’m not just talking about Naomi Smalls’ big toe.

RuPaul's Drag Race premiere recap: 'Keeping It 100'

My favorite reality competition show of all time — yes, I think I love it even more than The Celebrity Mole — has reached an incredible milestone. And Ru won’t let us forget it. That’s right, the eighth season premiere of RuPaul’s Drag Race marks the 100th episode in the landmark series’ run. Let’s think back on the show’s incredible history. So many unforgettable queens. So many barriers broken. So many filthy puns. So many Werk Room fights. So many miles of hairy tuck-tape. So many Shangela appearances — hallelu!

Disaster!: EW stage review

Disaster!, the new musical from Broadway personality Seth Rudetsky, has all the ingredients to live up to its name. It’s a jukebox musical of assorted ’70s hits (and a few deep tracks) that’s also a broad, shticky parody of retro epics, all spread over two campy acts. There’s so much that could go wrong, but the performances are so unapologetically silly and the production is so bright with flashing disco lights that ultimately you’re blinded to its flaws: humor that can miss the mark and campiness that’s sometimes a bit too overwrought.

Robert Carlock explains making Tina Fey a 'Kabul 10' in Whiskey Tango Foxtrot

Tina Fey’s 30 Rock character, Liz Lemon, once sang about “night cheese” while wearing a Snuggie. So it’s a bit of a shift to see Fey as an adrenaline-seeking journalist who leaves an uninspiring reporting job in the U.S. and embeds herself in Afghanistan in Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (out March 4).

Top Chef recap: 'Back Where It All Started'

Let’s all join the remaining chefs in reeling from Kwame’s elimination. I guess it shouldn’t have been too surprising — he started to falter several episodes before his demise, but Kwame the “prodigy” had one of the most impressive early runs I’ve seen on Top Chef. He’s not coming back, either, since Jason continued his reign on Last Chance Kitchen last week, but there’s no doubt Kwame is a better chef than he is a rapper.
