Which of these WB shows will make it? A ''Romeo and Juliet'' love affair, a sexy wheelchair-bound superhero, and more from the network beloved by teens and young adults

''Felicity'' has gone to the great Women's Entertainment network in the sky, and ''Buffy'' is still stuck in the UPN's Hellmouth. But WB faves ''Gilmore Girls,'' ''Smallville,'' ''Dawson's Creek,'' and ''7th Heaven'' will all be back this fall. Better yet, they'll be joined by six new shows hoping to curry favor with that ever-important 12-34 demo. Here's our look at what you can expect.

EVERWOOD Monday, 9 p.m.

THE PITCH ''Doc Hollywood'' meets ''Providence''

THE PLOT After his wife dies, workaholic big-city neurosurgeon Andrew Brown (''Prince of the City'''s Treat Williams) quits his job and moves to bucolic Everwood, Colo., with his kids: rebellious 15-year-old Ephram (''The Patriot'''s Gregory Smith) and angelic 9-year-old Delia (Viviane Cardone of ''A Beautiful Mind''). Dr. Brown becomes a general-practice physician, offering his services for free (!), which doesn't endear him to the local family doctor. Many life lessons -- and much wise-old-man narration from a kindly school bus driver -- ensue.

OBLIGATORY TEEN-GIRL STAR Emily VanCamp (of the ill-fated ''Glory Days'') stars as Amy Abbott, the cute blond daughter of Everwood's longtime family doc. In a twist worthy of a teen Shakespeare, Ephram falls in love with Amy, even though their dads hate each other.

POP SOUNDTRACK Elliott Smith's ''Somebody That I Used to Know,'' Cat Stevens' ''Miles From Nowhere''
