The Past Lives Award goes to...
Nicole KidmanFOR Birth
WHY? It's fitting that Kidman was nominated for a film about reincarnation. Because it's Kidman's previous incarnations her Globe-winning roles in such films as To Die For, Moulin Rouge, and The Hours that seemed to earn her the nod this time. After all, it's unlikely that her work in Birth, a film that garnered mixed-to-poor reviews and has received no other awards-season recognition from anyone, was nominated on its own merits. It just wouldn't be a Golden Globes roster without a nod to Kidman, who's now been nominated seven times, five of them in the past four years. No doubt she'll be cited again next year; that's her karma.
