As you watch Martin Scorsese's high-flying epic, the vision and crazy daring of Howard Hughes (Leonardo DiCaprio) spill into the scope and exuberance of the movie itself. The Aviator is studded with marvelous moments, yet it fails to present Hughes as an entirely coherent human being.
