--
Aging takes on a mythic air on The Great Destroyer, the latest incarnation of Low's slow transition from sleepy minimalists to complex composers. Fronted by harmonizing married couple Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker, indie rock's maturing avatars of tense lethargy paint life as an epic fade, complete with a mysteriously allegorical ''Silver Rider'' and folky musings on going deaf. But ''I'll still have my sight,'' Sparhawk and Parker declare together. It's then that you realize how beautiful acquiescence can be.
