What do you expect from a makeup company that once used RuPaul as its face? New York-based cosmetics firm MAC — which in September 2003 launched its Beauty Icon collection with fake eyelashes inspired by Liza Minnelli — unveiled its second campaign Jan. 20, featuring Miss Diana Ross. That's two camp-alicious Icons in a row! Are the makeup mavens purposely courting the drag-queen demo? ''The whole use of makeup in its own right is drag to begin with,'' says MAC president John Demsey. ''How one chooses to use makeup to maximize or minimize or express oneself is part of the fun of it.'' The line includes ''pink-chromed'' lipsticks, blushes, and a special-edition ''beauty powder'' (diva talk for ''compact''). And don't you worry: There is mahogany.
