MONDAY
JANUARY 31SEASON PREMIERE 9-10PM Murphy's Law (BBC America, TV-MA) When we last saw edgy Irish cop Tommy Murphy (James Nesbitt, left), things were looking up, particularly where his good-for-a-snog boss Annie was concerned. Try not to get too attached to that relationship (see: show title). Now Murphy is a solo act, going undercover as a homeless man to catch a modern-day Jack the Ripper who's terrorizing women on the streets of London's West End. This gritty and involving drama is as tense as ever, but will it stay that way? After all, Murphy's luck can only improve. B+
8:30-9PM Listen Up (CBS, TV-PG) Will a woman come between Tony and Bernie on their weekend alone? One would sincerely hope so.
9-9:30PM Growing Up Gotti (A&E, TV-PG-L) Gangsta rapper Gotti visits. 'Cause it's so right to invite strangers for sleepovers for no better reason than y'all have the same name.
SERIES DEBUT 10-11PM The Night Detective (BBC America, TV-MA) A black cop moves from London to a small, racist city. Whee! Americans aren't the only bigots on the planet! Feels pretty good, huh?
SEASON PREMIERE 10-11PM Animal Cops: San Francisco (Animal Planet, TV-PG) Kick your dog, and I'll kick your butt. Don't try me, San Francisco.
10-11PM Medium (NBC, TV-14) The wife is always the last to know about an affair. Unless she's psychic. Then maybe she sees it coming.
