But our favorite Oscar-nomination story of the year comes from Hotel Rwanda costar Sophie Okonedo, who was so convinced she wouldn't make the short list that she didn't even tell her family and friends about the announcements, choosing to visit a London art gallery with her mother instead. ''I got the phone call while we were in there, and my mum just screamed the place down and so did I,'' says Okonedo. ''And the [gallery's] security came up to us and told us we had to get out of the building because we were making too much noise.'' It's the Oscar version of a touchdown.
