If I don't come back or they don't want me back, they can keep it going with other people, but...it would f---ing kill me to not close out the show. I've known what the finale should be since I pitched the pilot.... The show should at least go through [Rory's] college graduation. I just don't want to be sitting at home watching with a bottle of vodka and a bottle of Demerol crying when [the new writers] decide Rory is going to be a pole dancer at a strip club in Chicago, and I'm like, ''NO! She was going to be Christiane Amanpour!'' I'm saying this for whoever's writing the show at that time maybe they'll be really tired and won't feel like coming up with a story, so here, I'll give you the story: She's got to fly. She's strong. She's got no obvious allergies. I've got the finale in my head, so whoever you are, give me a call. I've got it all right down to the last two words.
