If I don't come back or they don't want me back, they can keep it going with other people, but...it would f---ing kill me to not close out the show. I've known what the finale should be since I pitched the pilot.... The show should at least go through [Rory's] college graduation. I just don't want to be sitting at home watching with a bottle of vodka and a bottle of Demerol crying when [the new writers] decide Rory is going to be a pole dancer at a strip club in Chicago, and I'm like, ''NO! She was going to be Christiane Amanpour!'' I'm saying this for whoever's writing the show at that time — maybe they'll be really tired and won't feel like coming up with a story, so here, I'll give you the story: She's got to fly. She's strong. She's got no obvious allergies. I've got the finale in my head, so whoever you are, give me a call. I've got it all — right down to the last two words.
