The Oscar race is still a race, if the share-the-wealth pattern of the Screen Actors Guild voting is any indication. In what was expected to be an Aviator vs. Millon Dollar Baby face-off, Sideways ended up winning the top prize, Best Ensemble, at Saturday's 11th Annual SAG Awards. Baby still won two prizes, Best Actress for Hilary Swank (who now must be considered the front-runner for the corresponding Academy Award) and Morgan Freeman for Best Supporting Actor, while Aviator won a Supporting Actress prize for Cate Blanchett's portrayal of Katharine Hepburn. Best Actor went, of course, to Ray star Jamie Foxx, who's going to have to come up with a new shtick for his acceptance speech at the Oscars, since his sing-along-with-me-on-''What'd I Say'' routine is getting old.

On the TV side, the big winner was Desperate Housewives, which repeated its Golden Globe victories with awards for Best Comedy Ensemble and Best Comedy Actress for Teri Hatcher. Best Drama Ensemble went to three-time SAG bridesmaid CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Also echoing the Globes, acting prizes for lead roles in a movie or miniseries went to Glenn Close for The Lion in Winter and Geoffrey Rush for The Life and Death of Peter Sellers. Best Comedy Actor went to Monk's Tony Shalhoub for the second straight year. Jennifer Garner won Best Dramatic Actress for Alias. And in one of the night's most moving moments, Elaine Orbach accepted a posthumous Best Dramatic Actor prize on behalf of her late husband, longtime Law & Order star Jerry Orbach.
