Although Lucasfilm will confirm no plot points about ''Episode II,'' due next summer, the official ''Star Wars'' online newsletter Homing Beacon recently offered a hint: R.A. Salvatore, author of the ''Episode II'' novelization, says the ''complex'' relationship between Anakin (Hayden Christensen) and Amidala (Natalie Portman) is a major factor in the young Jedi's transition to utter Vader- ness. ''People don't snap like that and go over to the dark side,'' Salvatore told Beacon. ''But with Anakin, there's a lot more to it.... She's a big part in what's going on in him.''
One secret Lucasfilm hasn't kept hidden: the new domain names it's registered, including JangoFett.com. Could that be related to Boba, the first trilogy's fave bounty hunter? Lucasfilm is mum, but webheads are compiling character lists based on such registered monikers as Jobal Naberrie, Cliegg Lars, Count Dooku, and -- no kidding -- Elian Sleazebaggano. Forget the Jar Jar controversy: That one's sure to cause a ruckus in Miami.
