TWO BRAD Pitt takes on dual roles in his latest project

You may not think Brad Pitt's life is terribly funny, but he apparently thinks it's hilarious. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Pitt has signed on to spoof himself in the comedy Chad Schmidt. Pitt will play a dual role in the film: successful star Brad Pitt, and the title character, an aspiring actor with similar looks and a rhyming name who came to Hollywood at the same time as Pitt but who, unlike his doppelgänger, can't get arrested in this town. Ultimately, Chad must abandon his dreams of stardom and move on with his life. Sounds hilarious, yes?

The screenplay is credited to Steve Conrad, who also wrote an existential-crisis movie for Nicolas Cage, the soon-to-be-released The Weather Man, though Chad Schmidt sounds like it's actually the work of Donald Kaufman, the fictitious look-alike brother of Being John Malkovich screenwriter Charlie Kaufman, played by Cage in Adaptation.
