They looked so united with their leather jackets, bowl cuts, and identical last names, but the Ramones were far from in tune with each other. End of the Century: The Story of the Ramones, the revealing doc on the punk legends, shows how even through all the fights (Johnny daring Dee Dee to stab him), feuds (Johnny and Joey basically not talking for 17 years after the former stole the latter's girl), and freak shows (producer Phil Spector brandishing a gun), the band remained a (largely underappreciated) American institution.

EXTRAS Forty minutes of bonus interviews, including Joey's claim that Bruce Springsteen wrote ''Hungry Heart'' for the Ramones, and that Johnny's decision to fire Blondie's Clem Burke as drummer was because ''he couldn't keep up.''
