Q We learned March 2 that roly-poly Lost castaway Hurley had won the lottery back home in California with some pretty freaky numbers. Should we be buying tickets with the same digits?
A Folks looking to hit the jackpot with Hurley's 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, and 42 may be flat out of luck. ''We purposefully chose a 'Mega' lotto number that was outside the normal bounds,'' says Lost cocreator Damon Lindelof (California's, for example, stops at 27). Still, viewers who've tallied the winning ticket's individual digits and those of Hurley's $156 million (i.e., 4 + 8 + 1 + 5...) know that the total equals the number of survivors: 48. Spooky! That means every island mystery adds up, right? Says Lindelof: ''The last thing we would everdo on Lost is be illogical.'' Promise?
