Looks like Carson Kressley won't be playing Delilah to Johnny Damon's Sampson. Indeed, while Bravo's Queer Eye for the Straight Guy descended on the spring-training dugout of World Series champs Boston Red Sox this week, Damon's trademark long locks sat on the bench during the makeover segments.

According to WCVB-TV in Boston, Damon is under contract to keep his hair long as part of a publicity blitz for the book he's releasing in April. Not to say the star centerfield wasn't game for some tzujing; despite a reported bout of cellulitis, Damon joined teammates Kevin Millar, Doug Mirabelli, Tim Wakefield, and Jason Varitek for the official Fab Five treatment, which will be part of the June 7 Queer Eye season premiere.

The Boston Herald reported that the Queer Eye cast showed up for the Red Sox' s 9-3 win over the St. Louis Cardinals in Fort Myers, Fla., yesterday, with Kressley donning a pink Red Sox uniform, and the five team members who received makeovers giving a mini-fashion show. Anyone want to take a bet on the likelihood of Carson making a joke about pitchers and catchers during the episode?
