Most of the many Star Wars spin-offs cater only to the hardest of hardcore fans. Star Wars Tales, Volume 5 is more accessible — a collection of doodles by talents that in many cases are deliberately quirky fits. Prime example: ''Fred Jawa,'' in which indie fave Bob Fingerman introduces a consumer advocate into the droid bazaar mix. Other stories are all about the twist, as with W. Haden Blackman and Sean Murphy's riff cleverly linking Han Solo's final fate to Sasquatch and Indiana Jones.
