Who knew Chloë Sevigny she of the outré fashion sense (and equally daring film projects) has an inner prepster to channel? As good-girl Laurel in Woody Allen's Melinda and Melinda, the actress (with on-screen husband Jonny Lee Miller, above) didn't chafe at her character's prim silk blouses, tidy button-downs, and pencil skirts. ''I grew up in Connecticut, so I'm familiar with that world and that type of girl who is very demure and kind of classic,'' says Sevigny, who returned to form in a dangerously short blue velvet suit by Dolce & Gabbana at Melinda's March 16 premiere in New York City. Though she ultimately prefers to ''mix it up a little bit,'' the indie icon concedes, ''there'll always be that prep in me that I can't seem to get rid of.''
