The Insider anchor Pat O'Brien, 57, announced March 20 that he would enter an alcohol rehabilitation program. In a statement, he said, ''Overcoming this problem is a top priority in my life, and I am excited to return to work as soon as I am able.''

Singer Lyn Collins, 56, whose years touring with James Brown earned her the title ''The Female Preacher,'' reportedly of cardiac arrhythmia, March 13, in Pasadena. . . . Science-fiction and fantasy writer Andre Norton, 93, author of more than 130 novels, including 30-plus in the Witch Worldseries, of congestive heart failure, March 17, in Murfreesboro, Tenn. . . . Jazz drummer Larry Bunker, 76, a presence in numerous film scores (Stalag 17, The Incredibles), of complications from a stroke, March 8, in L.A.
