NBC actually scored decent numbers against Wednesday's American Idol results show on Fox? Must be a sign of the apocalypse. Well, actually, it is, sort of, as the NBC show that accomplished this rare feat was the debut episode of the miniseries Revelations. According to Nielsen, the end-of-times drama drew 15.6 million viewers — not enough to dent Idol, which still attracted its usual 25 million viewers, but still up 44 percent from what The West Wing usually draws in the same timeslot. In fact, it was the biggest 9 p.m. Wednesday audience NBC has seen since a special Law & Order episode last September. In contrast, ABC's Alias and CBS' The King of Queens drew just 7.7 million apiece. Guess it always helps to have God, or Simon Cowell, on your side.
