SLOGAN ''Prepare for the fantastic!''
TRAILER HIGHLIGHTS Newly elastic Reed demonstrates his stretching arm, prompting Johnny to say, ''That's gross.'' Ben, transformed into the orange, rock-like ''The Thing'' (top), utters his signature line, ''It's clobberin' time,'' before walloping some hapless baddie so hard that he smashes out a window of the Chrysler Building.
PERCENTAGE OF PLOT SPOILED 70 percent
VERDICT On the plus side, the action looks great, the effects appear convincing, and Nip/Tuck's McMahon seems like he'll make for a surprisingly suave and ominous villain. On the minus side, the dialogue sounds incredibly lame, even by the modest standards of the genre. (''Invisible Girl'' Sue says to Reed, ''Look at me,'' and he replies, ''I can't.'') Will it be worth sitting through such groaners to watch the adventure? Trailer grade: C+
