The concept is simple: ''Crashing weddings and picking up girls,'' says Owen Wilson. Indeed, Wedding Crashers (opens July 15) is a real throwback to simpler days...of foul language, bare breasts, and sexual high jinks. Just think of all the comedies of a few decades ago, Wilson says, ''R-rated movies Stripes, Animal House, all those movies that I liked.''
In this film, he and Vince Vaughn star as two Washington, D.C., divorce mediators whose mission in life is to, well, get laid by showing up to nuptials uninvited and hooking up with lovestruck ladies. But their plans take a turn when they encounter Rachel McAdams (The Notebook) and Isla Fisher (Scooby-Doo), the reserved and wily daughters of the buttoned-down U.S. treasury secretary Christopher Walken and his randy wife, Jane Seymour. Befitting the morals of its protagonists, the loose movie shoot was rife with instances where ''we just started riffing some stuff,'' says Vaughn, whose random diatribes on everything from tattoos to maple syrup make for comedy gold in the movie and should translate into a mint at the box office.
