'SHOW' TIME Chappelle will return -- finally!
It's finally time for Dave Chappelle to earn that big advance. Comedy Central has announced that the long-awaited third season of Chappelle's Show will debut May 31, more than a year after the final original episode of Season 2 aired. Since then, of course, the sketch series has become a monster hit on DVD, prompting Comedy Central to pay the comic $50 million for two more seasons. Why the delay, then, for Season 3? Over the winter, Chappelle reportedly suffered from flu and writer's block. And, for all we know, maybe a case of jitters over having to make sure the next batch of shows lives up to his new paycheck.
