THE LOWDOWN Having released his first album a decade ago as the singer of Commander Venus, 24-year-old singer/songwriter Bright Eyes (a.k.a. Conor Oberst) is an indie-music vet. So it was no surprise that he had the skills to release two vastly different albums at the same time earlier this year, one electro-indie (Digital Ash in a Digital Urn) and the other somber acoustic country (I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning).
WHAT WE HOPE HE'LL PLAY ''Padraic My Prince'' (from 1998's Letting Off the Happiness), a story-song about a boy whose brother died as a baby. (Concertgoers will need something to bring them back down to earth after jumping around to their indie favorites all day.)
IF YOU CAN'T MAKE IT TO COACHELLA... Oberst will romp across the States until early June, at which point he'll head over to Europe until the end of July. (Get tour details on his official site)
