''3 Small Words''

EW's GRADE
B

Details Lead Performance: Kay Hanley; Genres: Pop, Singles, Soundtracks

You've probably seen the perky eared sirens lip synch this kiss-off to a dense dude in the film's trailer. But the tune -- ''3 Small Words'' -- along with the flick's other pop punk fare, is actually performed by ex-Letters to Cleo singer Kay Hanley and produced by Babyface. Even if Josie & Co.'s music exists mainly to move movie tix, this is still more meaty than most of the fembot hits clogging the charts. When Hanley boasts she's a ''brown paper magazine/ Hotter than you've ever seen,'' you feel the flames. Eden's Crush, watch your backs.
