Sunset Beat
Like a block of good cheese, George Clooney's career has improved with age. Just think: Fifteen years ago, the Hollywood power broker was a virtual unknown heading up the cast of Sunset Beat, a cops-on-Harleys drama that was a chunk of cheese in its own right. Reviewer Ken Tucker, who gave the show a C, called it ''more amusing than 21 Jump Street'' and no wonder: Clooney's Chic Chesbro (far left) fought crime by day and played lead guitar with a band called Private Prayer by night. Fortunately for the young actor, ABC pulled the plug on the series after just two episodes, and four years later he joined the cast of another fledgling drama: ER. (Read the review)
