The 'trek' finally comes to an end

FRIDAY

8-10PM Star Trek: Enterprise (UPN, TV-PG-LV) This is the end of the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its mission: to make sci-fi history, to redefine pop culture, to go off the air in a manner that does not suck. Mission accomplished, mostly. No, the finale does not reveal that Captain Archer's (Scott Bakula, left, with Jolene Blalock) foray through the universe was one big holodeck fantasy (despite a visit by Next Generation vets Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis). But does it feel like a fitting send-off for a TV institution? Not really. Then again, it probably never could have. B —Marc Bernardin

5-6PM TRL (MTV) One afternoon, in a television studio not too far, far away. . .the geek-tastic celebration begins! MTV steers away from the teenyboppers for a moment and gives Star Wars fans an hour-long edition of the countdown show with a tour of the Skywalker Ranch and interviews with celebrity Jedi fans including Elijah Wood, Kevin Smith, and Orlando Jones. New Yorkers better start lining up in Times Square now.

7:30-10PM Back in the Day (BET) Ving Rhames and Ja Rule in a ''tale of love and redemption.'' Aww. They're so mushy.

8-10PM Elvis by the Presleys (CBS) Fresh off of CBS' TV movie about the King, here's a two-hour special with Priscilla and Lisa Marie, who guide us through the Presley estate memorabilia. But at the first sign that Lisa Marie is going to sing some of Daddy's songs, we're changing the channel.

SERIES DEBUT 9-10PM Costas Now (HBO) Or later. Since ''it's not TV, it's HBO,'' it'll be on, like, 80 times.

SEASON FINALE 10-11PM Numb3rs (CBS) Because you need higher-level mathematics to figure out that prisoners might've had a hand in their accidental bus crash.

SEASON PREMIERE 10:30-11:30PM NASCAR Drivers: 360 (FX, TV-PG-L) It's Kurt Busch's girlfriend's ''moment to shine.''
