Lindsay Lohan's mission, should she choose to accept it, is to costar with Tom Cruise in the long-delayed third Mission: Impossible film.
''I actually met with J.J. Abrams, who is directing,'' Lohan said in an interview on Access Hollywood Tuesday. ''I'm a huge fan of Lost and Alias, so hopefully, we will see what happens. If so, I'll be in training for a few weeks, putting on some muscles.''
Lohan would probably fill the shoes of Scarlett Johansson, who (along with Carrie-Anne Moss, Kenneth Branagh, and Narc director Joe Carnahan) left the project when Cruise pushed filming back a year to accommodate the fast-track production of Steven Spielberg's The War of the Worlds.
Besides Cruise, only sidekick Ving Rhames has been confirmed to return from the previous two Mission: Impossible films. M:I3 will begin shooting this summer for a 2006 release date. Lohan will next be seen in this summer's Herbie: Fully Loaded and on Saturday Night Live's season finale.
