This must be one of the most abnormal love triangles ever: Alan, a hydrophobic accountant, is stalking Lynn, an apathetic gallery owner who's stalking Roland, a lawyer who happens to be Alan's racquetball partner. Amanda Filipacchi endows her characters with plenty of quirks — Lynn, craving rejection, applies to the Hair Club for Men — but few endearing qualities, and they become annoying very quickly. A film adaptation is already in the works from producer Michael Stipe and the team behind 2004's wicked Christian comedy Saved! These narcissistic nutjobs seem tailor-made for a 90-minute movie; in this 289-page book, Love Creeps, however, they're almost unbearable.
