You would have to ask that right after Revenge of the Sith. The most
unlikely films can inspire fans to rally to their defense. Remember Alive, the 1993 air-crash-survivors-go-cannibal drama? I hated it, and to judge by the response you'd have thought I trashed Citizen Kane. My very unscientific survey, though, says that the single film I have been most lambasted for panning is The Phantom Menace. I do have to wonder if all those furious letter writers still agree with themselves.
