When we left off . . . With his estranged wife, Vanessa (Justina Machado), rejecting his plea for reconciliation, Federico (Freddy Rodríguez) moved to the most depressing place imaginable — the Fishers' gloomy spare bedroom.

Burning questions Is there any hope for the Diazes' marriage, or will season 5 find Federico back on the market? Will living over the funeral home make the impish undertaker as neurotic as the Fishers or prompt him to update his résumé?

Interest level 5: Sure, Federico deserved what was coming after his dalliance with stripper Sophia (Idalis de Leon), but it was truly moving when we saw his heart break after Vanessa described her joy in her newfound freedom.
