Starring Former MTV stoner mascot Pauly Shore (Encino Man, Son-in-Law) and a slew of stand-ups at L.A.'s legendary Comedy Store, which was founded by Shore's parents What It's About Cameras follow Shore as he works to save the foundering family business — whose stage helped launch Richard Pryor, Robin Williams, and Whoopi Goldberg, among others — by planning extensive renovations and bringing back the Comedy Store Roast. Says exec producer Allison Grodner: ''It's both a blessing and a curse for him — he's doing it because he loves his family, but at the same time he's trying to reinvent his career. He's also looking at whether or not he wants to settle down.'' What to Expect ''People have a perception of me being really outrageous, when I'm actually a pretty good businessman,'' says Shore, 37. ''People [will] find me more intelligent than maybe they think I am.'' Why We're Optimistic Because seeing a softer side of the ''Wea-sel,'' as he cares for his parents and embraces middle age, is oddly moving.
