WHAT IT'S ABOUT If variety is the spice of life, then Hugh Hefner is one spicy bastard. Not satisfied to stick with one mere lady friend, Hef keeps three on hand to satisfy his elderly-horndog whims. Girls follows said girlfriends — Holly, Kendra, and Bridget — as they scamper (or whatever Hef's chicks do) around the infamous Playboy Mansion.
WHAT TO EXPECT While E!'s senior VP of programming development, Lisa Berger, notes, ''This is not a Hugh Hefner documentary,'' she also describes the 79-year-old nudie magnate as ''omnipresent.'' But the show is really a ''look at the mansion through the eyes of these girls. This is all-access. This is upstairs, downstairs — the inner workings of everything that happens at the mansion.'' Everything? Wait, don't answer that.
WHY WE'RE OPTIMISTIC This is about as close to the mansion as we're ever gonna get.
