Cinderella ManForget ''Are Brad and Angelina a couple?'' Now the big question is ''Can Brad and Angelina open a movie together?'' And the answer will most likely be yes.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's comic thriller Mr. & Mrs. Smith hits theaters this weekend, and looks to capitalize on all the hype surrounding the pair with a big opening weekend. (That the movie really delivers will also help.) Look for the Smiths to take in around $38 million this weekend.
After claiming the top spot last weekend, Madagascar should slip back to second place with a 40 percent dip to $17 million, followed by The Longest Yard and Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith with $14 million and $13 million, respectively.
Also premiering this weekend is Robert Rodriguez's latest family film, The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl in 3D. Though Rodriguez has had tremendous success with the Spy Kids franchise, he's likely to be overshadowed this time by Madagascar. But Shark Boy should see a $12 million debut, which would tie for fifth place with Cinderella Man, which could also gross $12 million in its second weekend.
That means the weekend's two other new releases Cedric the Entertainer's remake of The Honeymooners and the horror thriller High Tension will both open outside the top five. The Honeymooners should see a $10 million tally, while Tension may premiere with only about $6 million.
