Two months ago, Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise were strangers; now, not only are they the world's most publicly affectionate couple, but she's also embracing his faith. Promoting Batman Begins at a London press conference on Monday, Holmes (who was raised a Catholic) was asked if she'd been taking classes in Scientology. ''Yes, I am, and I'm really excited about it,'' she said, according to the Associated Press. Asked if she and Cruise were engaged yes, she said, ''There's nothing official to report.''

Holmes' comments echo those Cruise made in Entertainment Weekly's cover story this week. Asked if Holmes was interested in Scientology, the War of the Worlds star told EW, ''Yeah, absolutely. She digs it.'' He denied exerting undue influence on Holmes, whether on spiritual or career matters. ''Listen, the thing you've got to know about Katie is that she's an incredibly bright and self-determined woman,'' he said. ''She makes her own decisions.'' Asked about a possible engagement, he said, ''That's something Kate and I have to talk about,'' but he added, ''It's gonna happen, man. It'll happen.''
