Hoop Dreams

The fascinating basketball documentary finally gets a couple of extra-filled discs

Age 11

Mustworthiness The famously Oscar-snubbed Dreams has finally scored a DVD release: The all-time top-grossing documentary (until 2002's Bowling for Columbine), Steve James' 1994 heartbreaker spent five years tracking inner-city teens William Gates and Arthur Agee in their dogged pursuit of pro basketball careers.

Court Gesture A gripping commentary reunites the adult Gates and Agee, revealing the close bond they shared during filming. In a second track, James emotionally describes how he and his crew became fixtures — and financial supporters — in the boys' lives.

Next The disc is in stores now.
