Despite her 1971 death from a drug overdose, Andy Warhol muse Edie Sedgwick is still the center of attention. Earlier this month, Katie Holmes ditched a role as Sedgwick in the biopic Factory Girl, allegedly due to a raunchy script (her publicist says the Batman Begins star was never actually attached). It wasn't the first personnel issue: Original Sedgwick Sienna Miller left in mid-May amid reports that she'd been dumped for a bigger name. But Factory director George Hickenlooper says both deals fell apart due to nothing more exotic than. . .scheduling, with Miller committed to a play. And Holmes? ''She loved the script, but she wouldn't have the time because of her commitment to Batman,'' explains Hickenlooper, who's toned the text down (he calls it ''elegant'') and is talking to everyone from Kate Hudson to Lindsay Lohan in hopes of filming by fall. But will the hard part have just begun? ''I think it's pretty impossible to get Edie right,'' says designer Betsey Johnson, who hired her as a fit model in the '60s. ''She was too special.''
