Fox president Hutch Parker acknowledges the production process was ''very tough,'' from choosing a script to picking a director (the studio settled on Story after seeing an early cut of Taxi, the Jimmy Fallon-Queen Latifah film that, well, tanked). But he's unconcerned about the overlap with The Incredibles. ''In light of Batman Begins and War of the Worlds, which are both darker, I think [that approach] will be beneficial,'' says Parker.

Arad is equally upbeat. ''I'm one of these optimists,'' he says, ''so for me everything is fantastic.'' Translation: One way or another, it's clobberin' time.
