THE BLESSED EVENT The long-awaited Florida wedding of nurse Gaylord ''Greg'' Focker (Ben Stiller) and schoolteacher Pam Byrnes (Teri Polo), as promised since the couple got engaged at the beginning of Meet the Parents (2000).

WHY IT TAKES THE CAKE The ceremony itself isn't that unusual, but after two movies' worth of embarrassing inquisitions from both sets of in-laws (notably, Pam's suspicious, retired-spy dad, played by Robert De Niro, and Greg's uninhibited folks, played by Barbra Streisand and Dustin Hoffman), plus such comic obstacles as toilet-using pets and false nursing breasts, it's remarkable that the wedding takes place at all.
