Nothing breaks a sensitive guy's heart quite like the girl he loves telling him she wants to be ''just friends.'' ''I can't imagine anyone who that hasn't happened to at some point,'' says The Amityville Horror's Ryan Reynolds. He plays a nerd who ''poured his heart out'' to a cheerleader (Amy Smart) in high school, but ''she crushed it.'' Ten years later he stumbles across Smart again, ''and he thinks the way to heal is to get her, and sleep with her.... But he quickly realizes it's far more complicated than that.''
