HAT TRICK Ledger and Damon will lead ''Grimm'' to victory
Brothers Grimm: Ralph Nelson

One word that'll describe the scene at the box office this late-August weekend? Grimm.

The likely No. 1 film of the weekend is The Brothers Grimm, Terry Gilliam's fantasy starring Matt Damon and Heath Ledger. But mixed early reviews may keep some audiences away, resulting in a debut of less than $20 million. Look for the brothers to gross about $16 million in their first three days of release.

Meanwhile, The 40 Year-Old Virgin should see a small 30 percent drop to $15 million in its second weekend, ahead of the airline drama Red Eye, which will slip to about $8 million.

Also opening this weekend is the thriller The Cave, which lacks big stars and will suffer the consequences with a $6 million debut. And Four Brothers should also gross another $6 million in its third weekend. With kids headed back to school, movies may be the last thing on their minds.
